Dr. John Nesiba, D.D.S., M.D.
Aurora Hills Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is excited to introduce Dr. John Nesiba, M.D., D.D.S. as our new surgeon! Dr. Nesiba comes to Aurora after 9 years of post-graduate surgical training in oral, facial, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery. He earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree in 2009 from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. Following this year he completed two, 1-year programs in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Omaha Nebraska and in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Following these two distinctly different years of training, he chose to pursue residency training at the Detroit Medical Center. During his 6 years in Detroit, Dr. Nesiba had extensive training in facial reconstruction, pathology of the jaws, orthognathic surgery and endosseous implant placement. While in Detroit he also earned his second doctorate degree in Medicine from Wayne State University in 2015. During this 6 years, he completed a 1 year General Surgery Internship and served as Chief Resident for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery division at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Eager to continue growing as a physician and a surgeon, Dr. Nesiba pursued further training and was chosen for the extremely competitive fellowship in General and Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City. During his fellowship, he was blessed to work with two fellowship-trained Cosmetic Surgeons, Dr. Erik J. Nuveen and Dr. Courtney Caplin. During this year he completed over 1000 cosmetic procedures! He also served as faculty at the Oklahoma University Medical Center, working with residents while they fulfilled their requirements for plastic surgery. Dr. Nesiba continues to practice full body and facial cosmetic surgery at Flourish Cosmetic Surgery in Denver, Colorado.
In his spare time, Dr. Nesiba enjoys spending time with his wife Dr. Pota Rakes (who he met in Dental School) and his two daughters, Angelina and Elleni. Outside of surgery, music is his true passion, and he can be found spinning records, catching a local show or playing one of his guitars. So if you’ve found a new song or band you love, let him know! His family is excited to call Colorado home.
Dr. Nesiba is extremely grateful for the opportunity to take care of you and your family. He takes this responsibility very seriously and will do everything he can to ensure your experience is safe, comfortable, and educational. Welcome to Aurora Hills Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
